Sadie Wardner and Chantel Staiger will serve as ambassadors for the Mandan Rodeo Days Celebration for the next year in their new roles as Miss Rodeo Mandan and Miss Rodeo Mandan Princess. The two were crowned during the Fourth of July  professional rodeo in Mandan.

Wardner is the 21-year-old daughter of Ron and Sue Wardner of Coleharbor. She is majoring in public relations and equine studies at North Dakota State University.

Staiger the 12-year-old daughter of Lisa and Marlyn Staiger of Glen Ullin. She will be an eighth grader at Glen Ullin Public School.

On her way to capturing the Miss Rodeo Mandan title, Wardner won the pageant’s horsemanship and personality categories. Stacy Jangula of Baldwin won the appearance division, was first runner-up and received the congeniality award from her fellow contestants.

In the princess division, Staiger received the horsemanship and appearance awards. McKenzie Wiest of Bismarck won the personality division and was first runner-up. Jaycee Howard of Bismarck received the congeniality award as voted on by her peers.

Miss Rodeo Mandan and Miss Rodeo Mandan Princess serve as ambassadors for the Mandan Rodeo Days Celebration, the community, the sport of rodeo and the western way of life. These young ladies are available to participate in speaking engagements on behalf of the Mandan Rodeo Committee, to assist with local and regional rodeos, to help sponsors and local businesses with promotional activities, and to teach youth about rodeo and its western heritage.
